Manus 2.0
Manus 2.0 is the September 28, 2026 release of Manus, available on the web, desktop, and mobile. Compared with Manus 1.6, it adds the Cascade agent harness, Manus Studio with editable video and game projects, event-triggered Automations, and a broader computer-use workflow. Cue is a separate early-access personal-agent app built on related infrastructure.

| Decision | Manus 1.6 | Manus 2.0 |
|---|---|---|
| Agent foundation | 1.6 Max focused on more autonomous completion and stronger planning. | Cascade loads specialized capabilities as a project needs them; Manus reports lower token, time, and running cost in one configuration. |
| Creative editing | Mobile development and Design View for visual image edits were major 1.6 additions. | Studio adds editable video timeline tracks and a Game Dev workspace for assets, code, scenes, and multiplayer setup. |
| Ongoing work | Scheduled Tasks began work on a set schedule; Cloud Computer was introduced later in the 1.x era. | Automations can also respond to connected-service events; a purchasable dedicated Cloud Computer supports persistent projects. |
| Computer access | The desktop My Computer workflow arrived after 1.6, before 2.0. | Computer Use is described as an authorized, visible workspace on a connected computer, with remote voice requests. |
| Personal agents | No Cue product in the 1.6 launch. | Cue launches separately in invite-only early access; its agent email, phone, wallet, and computer are not a Manus 2.0 plan feature. |

Why it matters
The useful change is how people can revise and operate an agent's work after the first result: edit a video timeline, change a game asset, trigger work from a connected event, or continue a project on an authorized computer. Product claims and one vendor test still need an account-level trial before they become a reliability or cost guarantee.
What changed in the agent and project workflow
Cascade is Manus's latest in-house agent harness. The company says it keeps a project light initially and brings in specialized tools only when needed, so the brief, page, video, and automation can stay connected. This is a workflow and architecture claim, not a new public API model ID.
- In one configuration tested by Manus, Cascade used 23.2% fewer tokens, finished tasks in 28.2% less time, and cost 32% less to run than the previous system. The release does not provide a public matched methodology or a universal task-success rate.
- These are system running-cost figures, not a statement that subscription prices or credit charges fell by 32%. Check the active plan and a representative task before deciding on cost.
- Manus 1.6 introduced Max, mobile development, and Design View; some intervening 1.x features also existed before 2.0. The table compares the release eras, not an isolated A/B test.
Watch the official Video Editor demonstration
Manus's launch article shows a short, silent Video Editor workflow immediately after explaining how separate timeline tracks let a person replace music or footage and move an animation. Watch it for the visible editing surface. It does not measure generation quality, speed, or a complete project from prompt to export.

Studio gives people editable video and game projects
The desktop app becomes Manus Studio. Video Editor exposes clips, images, text, motion graphics, and audio as separate timeline pieces after a first cut; a person can make edits and ask Manus to continue from them. Game Dev combines video, image, and coding models with a playable preview, an Edit panel, and optional multiplayer hosting through Cloud Computer.
- Alchemy mode is Manus's higher-directed video workflow using video and code generation together. The launch describes its intended quality, but does not publish an independent comparison.
- Game Dev can begin from a playable template and edit a selected character, art, movement, scene, or code. Publishing a multiplayer game requires a bought Cloud Computer; server capacity and operating cost need checking.
- Use the editable deliverable as the evaluation target: inspect timeline tracks, source assets, code, export, and whether later edits preserve earlier work.
Automations, Cloud Computer, and Computer Use
Before 2.0, Scheduled Tasks could start work at a set time. Manus now says Automations can also react to a new email, calendar event, Slack message, Notion update, or connected-service change. Cloud Computer is the persistent environment a project can buy; Computer Use lets Manus work in a visible, authorized session on a connected computer.
- An automation depends on each connected service and the permissions granted. Test the trigger, action, result, and failure path in the actual account.
- Cloud Computer already existed before the 2.0 announcement; the new release describes a purchasable dedicated environment for projects such as always-on games and automations.
- Computer Use may access approved local files, browsers, and apps. Confirm the connection and approval boundary before handing it a sensitive task.
Cue is a separate early-access app
Cue is a standalone personal-agent product built on the same infrastructure, rather than a renamed Manus 2.0 tier. Manus says a Cue agent can have its own email, phone number, wallet, and computer; several agents can coordinate in a group chat. Cue is free during limited, invite-code early access, and its iOS release was still awaiting App Store review in the September 28 announcement.
- Do not assume a Manus subscription grants Cue access or that Cue identity and payment features are available in every country.
- Check the live Cue sign-up, budget controls, service availability, and permissions before relying on phone or wallet workflows.
How to compare 2.0 with your current Manus workflow
Pick one task you already complete in Manus, such as revising a short ad, changing one game asset, or reacting to a connected event. Run it under the same inputs, account, and review standard. Record the usable output, edits needed, elapsed time, credits or plan cost, permission prompts, and export quality.
- For video, replace one clip and one audio track, then check whether the timeline and export retain the requested changes.
- For automation, fire one real connected event and inspect the completed action and any approval or failure record.
- For Computer Use, start with an authorized reversible file or browser task and verify what Manus actually touched.
Useful first jobs
- Revise an AI-produced short video on an editable timeline.
- Create and refine a playable game with explicit asset and code edits.
- Run a connected-service event automation or persistent project.
- Delegate a bounded desktop task in an authorized visible session.
Frequently asked questions
Is Manus 2.0 available now?
Manus says Manus 2.0 is available on the web, desktop, and mobile as of September 28, 2026. Check your account, app version, plan, and region for each Studio or Computer Use feature.
Is Manus 2.0 32% cheaper than Manus 1.6?
No general price reduction has been established. Manus reported 32% lower running cost for Cascade against its previous system in one tested configuration; that is not a subscription or credit-price comparison.
What is the main difference between Manus 2.0 and 1.6?
Manus 1.6 focused on its Max agent, mobile development, and Design View. Manus 2.0 adds the Cascade harness and a connected workflow across Studio editing, event-triggered Automations, and authorized computer work; intervening 1.x features should not be mistaken for entirely new 2.0 inventions.
Is Cue included in Manus 2.0?
Cue is a separate personal-agent app built on related infrastructure. It launched in limited, invite-code early access; a Manus subscription does not by itself prove Cue access or country-specific phone and wallet support.
Sources and evidence
Checked September 29, 2026 against Manus's September 28 release, its December 2025 Manus 1.6 announcement, and its published video demonstration. The 23.2% token, 28.2% time, and 32% running-cost reductions are Manus's results from one tested Cascade configuration against its previous system, not an independently replicated 1.6-to-2.0 benchmark or a subscription-price reduction. The announcement gives no universal account, plan, region, or task-success guarantee.
