Muse is Meta's personal AI agent for multi-step work in Muse Secure VM. It launched with Muse Spark; Meta's October 12 Muse Wonder announcement says Wonder will reach Muse later, starting with subscribers. Developer availability does not prove a consumer account has switched models.
Muse turns the personal-agent idea into a consumer product with its own cloud computer, memory, browser, permissions, approval gates, and payment path. Those boundaries matter more than treating it as another chatbot or assuming every announced integration is already available.
Meta's September 8 launch confirms Muse, Muse Secure VM, the separate Sentinel agent, US rollout, iOS/Android/web access, WhatsApp interaction, supported actions, permission controls, audit history, training opt-out, and current Link checkout. At Connect on September 23, Meta announced a coming-months AI-glasses integration and described voice mode, more connectors, an agent email address, and Muse Charm. Those announcements do not establish general availability. Meta gives no exact Muse subscription price. The September 28 Muse for Small Business and September 29 Meta Enterprise Platform announcements add business connectors and packaging, while keeping account access and approval boundaries distinct.

Muse runs on Muse Secure VM, a dedicated virtual machine with its own browser. A person can talk to it through the Muse app or WhatsApp, give it a task or longer goal, and let it keep working after the app closes. Meta says Muse can browse, fill forms, send email, book travel, negotiate, organize plans, and return when something changes or an approval is needed.
- Muse is the agent product; Muse Spark and Muse Wonder are separate model families. Wonder in the developer API is not proof of Wonder in every Muse account.
- A dedicated VM does not mean unrestricted authority: connected apps, credentials, and actions remain permission-bound.
- Long-running work should still be judged by the completed result, audit trail, cost, and human supervision required.
Meta says a separate Sentinel agent runs on the same machine but is isolated from Muse at the system level. Sentinel reviews outbound internet actions, while Muse asks the person before sensitive steps such as sending an email or making a purchase. The product also exposes a complete audit trail of completed and planned actions.
People choose which apps Muse can use and whether a connection is read-only or can perform actions. Credentials and payment methods are stored so Muse can use them without seeing their values; connections can be revoked, remembered details can be forgotten, and people can opt out of model training. Meta says VM data and Muse conversations are not shared with its advertising systems. Confidential VM, where even Meta cannot access the encrypted VM, is promised for later in 2026 and is not a current feature.
Muse can check out with Stripe Link, which uses a one-time card and covers eligible purchases with Link protections. Shop Pay and 1Password were not available at launch; Meta lists them as planned future integrations. Treat them as unavailable until their own launch and active product surfaces confirm otherwise.
At Connect 2026, Meta said Muse will come to its AI glasses in the coming months, including hands-free requests about what the wearer is looking at. Meta also described longer voice conversations while Muse works in the background, more shopping and work connectors, a future Muse email address, and a pocket device called Muse Charm. These are announcement-level plans: the Connect recap does not establish that every connector, the glasses experience, or Muse Charm is available to every account today.

The September 29 Meta Enterprise Platform announcement packages Muse, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code for enterprise/developer work. A connector list or enterprise announcement does not establish worldwide availability or access for every existing account.
Meta launched Muse Wonder in Model API and Muse Code on October 12, while Muse Wonder Full is restricted to qualifying Muse Code subscriptions. The announcement says Wonder will soon power Muse, first for subscribers. Keep that planned consumer rollout separate from current developer access and earlier SMB/enterprise packaging.
