How the Bots work together

Give each Bot a name, a role and a concrete deliverable. Bots retain working context and can exchange messages, transfer tasks or coordinate in group conversations. Their browser, filesystem and terminal run in the cloud; desktop and mobile apps let you direct the work and review results.

  • Closing your laptop does not stop a cloud task or scheduled routine, although access problems and usage limits can interrupt work.

In its September 3 design article, xAI describes an interface built around persistent, named Bots, visible task progress and workspaces revealed when needed. These choices aim to make ongoing work easier to follow. That is a product-design rationale, not evidence that Grok Bot understands every vague request better than another agent.

  • Judge the complete job: explaining the request, supplying context, checking progress, correcting output and approving the final action.
  • A familiar Bot can feel easier to brief. Check that feeling against sourced, usable output and fewer interventions over repeated tasks.

Try one useful job before scheduling it

A practical first trial is to ask a Bot to read a chosen set of support conversations and produce a spreadsheet of recurring issues, with links back to each source. Specify the date range, destination, definition of a duplicate and what requires your review. Judge the result against the original conversations before asking it to repeat the job.

  • Install the desktop app for Windows, macOS or Linux, then sign in with the eligible account using the documented Cursor authentication flow.
  • Create a Bot with one primary job, supply a sample result, and connect only the tools needed for that task.
  • A skill stores instructions for doing work; a routine assigns work to a Bot on a schedule or a supported event. Run the workflow once successfully before making it recurring.
  • Where Teach a task is available, a browser demonstration can become a draft skill. Review and test the generated steps instead of treating the demonstration as proof of reliability.

Plans, usage and enterprise access

As checked on September 6, 2026, the product page lists Cursor Pro from $20 per month and SuperGrok from $30 per month with Grok Bot access. Eligible plans also include Cursor Pro+, Ultra, Teams Standard and Premium, and SuperGrok Plus and Heavy. The August 26 expansion explicitly includes the basic paid tiers, even though some setup documentation still lists only higher tiers.

  • The access announcement describes a separate included Grok Bot allowance. Included usage is limited; it is not a promise of unlimited background execution.
  • The FAQ describes weekly usage and optional on-demand billing for eligible accounts. Check your current usage meter and billing settings before scheduling frequent jobs.
  • SpaceXAI announced enterprise availability on September 3. Organization activation and administrative controls still depend on the enterprise account; older waitlist-only copy no longer describes that announcement.
  • Desktop support covers Windows, macOS and Linux; mobile companions are documented for iOS and Android. Mobile access controls cloud work rather than moving execution onto your phone.

Connected apps, X and approvals

Bots can use connectors and browser-based applications. The August 29 X integration announcement describes connecting your X account, searching posts, reading timelines and checking mentions, with starter X API credits for paid Grok Bot users. It does not promise unlimited X API access.

  • Treat every login and file on the shared cloud computer as accessible to your other Bots. Use separate user accounts when you need a real account boundary.
  • Set explicit approval rules for sending, publishing, purchasing and deleting. Do not assume that every consequential action is automatically held for review.
  • A website may require a fresh login, CAPTCHA or human confirmation. Those interruptions can require you to take over the computer.
  • The documented privacy model uses Cursor account settings and cloud storage; Legacy Privacy Mode is not supported.
